Swimming in Vai

Vai is at the north-east tip of Crete, about 24 km from Sitia, on the coast facing east. The beach listed here is fine sand and pebbles with a protected palm forest growing right behind it. Toplou, a fortified monastery with a tall bell tower over its gate, is about 6 km south-west.
