Laganas stands at the head of Laganas Bay on the south coast of Zakynthos, about 3 km from the airport and 7 km from Zakynthos Town. The bay is known for its loggerhead turtles, and Laganas beach lies inside the National Marine Park of Zakynthos that protects their nesting beaches.
