Swimming in Kalathas

On the Akrotiri peninsula, the headland that closes Souda Bay to the north, Kalathas is a village about 6 km from Chania airport. Its sandy beach looks out at a small islet a couple of hundred metres offshore. Further out on the Akrotiri peninsula, the monastery of Agia Triada makes its own olive oil, wine and honey.
