Swimming in Almyrida

Almyrida is a seaside village on Crete's north coast, about 18 km south-east of Chania and 10 km across Souda Bay from the airport. You swim off the village beach, beside the mosaic floor of an early Christian basilica. On a hill about 6 km west, the excavated city of Aptera has a theatre that faces the White Mountains.
