Afantou is a village set back from the east coast of Rhodes, about 16 km south of Rhodes town and 14 km from the airport. Down on the shore below it, Afantou Beach is a long east-facing stretch of small pebbles and sand. Rhodes Old Town, where you can walk the lanes and the Street of the Knights inside the walls, is about 18 km north.
